How Consumers Opt In

When a client books an appointment through a barber's public booking page on OwnYourChair (e.g., ownyourchair.com/book/rebookengine), the booking form includes an explicit SMS consent checkbox.

  • The checkbox is unchecked by default — consent is affirmative and cannot be pre-selected.
  • The client must actively check the box to opt in.
  • The checkbox is not required to complete the booking — clients can book without opting in to SMS.
  • Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

  • Client phone number
  • Consent timestamp
  • Consent IP address
  • Consent boolean (true/false)
  • Associated barber account ID

These records are retained for compliance verification.
